The Rules

Films in all categories and of all lengths are open to consideration with the exception of commercials, industrial films, and other works dedicated to selling a product, person, or organization. The filmmaker is asked to identify length and potential categories into which the film might fit.

Only films financed by the major studios are excluded. However, a film may have a distribution agreement with a studio.

Feature Film submission deadlines for the upcoming awards season are:

  • Earlybird: April 1, 2011 – Standard fee $85.00; Discounted fee $80.00
  • Regular:  July 1, 2011 – Standard fee $95.00; Discounted fee $90.00
  • Late:  August 5, 2011 – Standard fee $100.00; Discounted fee $95.00
  • WAB Extended:  September 30, 2011 – Standard fee $110.00; Discounted fee $105.00
  • Notification Date:  October 31, 2011

Short Film submission deadlines for the upcoming awards season are:

  • Earlybird: April 1, 2011- Standard fee $40.00; Discounted fee $35.00
  • Regular:  July 1, 2011 – Standard fee $45.00; Discounted fee $40.00
  • Late:  August 12, 2011 – Standard fee $50.00; Discounted fee $45.00
  • WAB Extended:  September 30, 2011 – Standard fee $55.00; Discounted fee $50.00
  • Notification Date:  October 31, 2011

Submissions are always open for films from previous years.

Reviews of submissions will be held within 30 days following the extended deadline. The film will go through our curating system and entrants will be informed of their acceptance or rejection within 30 days following.

Promotional opportunities include, but are not limited to, special in-store and online Collections, cable shows, curated theatrical and airline presentations, etc. Assuming the film fits into an appropriate category, the filmmaker/rights holder can choose how OFFICIAL BEST OF FEST might best help the film.

All music and acting talent rights must have full clearance.
